SMOKING THE HOOKAH: THE NEW TREND IN TOBACCO

Lathrup Village, MI - December 4, 2006 The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) will be hosting a conference called Smoking the Hookah: The New Trend in Tobacco on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 8:30am to 12:30pm at the Costick Center, 28600 Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills, 48336.

Due to misleading information on the hookah and the huge upsurge in popularity among youth, the purpose of this conference is to educate health professionals and the community about the harmful effects of smoking the hookah.

The conference is for Health Educators, Teachers, Nurses, Dentists, Respiratory Specialists, Law Enforcement, Therapists, Elected Officials, Community Leaders, Coalition Directors, and Prevention Specialists.

For more information, please call Wali Altahif, ACC Tobacco Cessation Program, at 313-584-4137.
