ACC and Super Bowl XL’s
Convoy of Hope Outreach to Community
Convoy
of Hope, a Super Bowl XL sponsored-event, partnered with ACC on
February 4, 2006 to provide outreach services to families in need
during the day-long event held at the Michigan State Fairgrounds.
Over 10,000 individuals enjoyed free live entertainment, groceries
and refreshments, health screenings by local hospitals, job referrals
and a Kid Zone venue featuring games, rides, balloons and clowns
to delight the youngsters. Professional and college athletes were
in attendance to meet the community and promote the event.
ACC was selected as one of several
community organizations to provide a display of its literature
showcasing the myriad free services it provides to the greater
metro Detroit community. In addition, ACC provided donated clothing
items and volunteers to work the event and transported clients
from the Seven Mile and the surrounding areas to take part in
this event.
Convoy of Hope succeeded in helping
so many in such a short time. That’s the power of community!
