Health leader Fakhouri wins money for program
Monty Fakhouri, the Arab , American and Chaldean Council's public
health and youth services director, was recognized by the Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation for his health leadership skills. The
award provides 5105,000 to the ACC program.
Fakhouri has worked to help Arab, Chaldean and Afri¬can
Americans gain easier access to public health servic¬es.
Some of Fakhouri's pro¬grams are prevention screen¬ings,
educational seminars, women's cardiovascular dis¬ease, diabetes
awareness, HIV/AIDS education, and others focused on at-risk
youths.
Fakhouri and other health leader award recipients were honored
June 21 in Princeton, N.J., home of the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation.
