*JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently interested in professionals interested in performing Unit Leader functions within our Education Unit. Responsibilities include developing ESL and Citizenship course curriculum, instructing and evaluating members in the Education Unit. These professionals are often involved with extensive hands-on instruction.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
• Two years’ experience working with mentally ill populations
• Two years’ experience teaching ESL
• Bi-lingual in Arabic and English
*RESPONSIBILITIES: • Clubhouse staff is predominantly concerned with the facilitation of vocational and psychosocial rehabilitation of Clubhouse members via the Work-Ordered Day and its relevant, meaningful activities.
• The Clubhouse Unit Leader works in collaboration with members, other Unit Leaders, and the Manager within the Clubhouse.
• The title Unit Leader refers to the specific Unit with which the Leader primarily organizes and maintains, but does not prevent that staff from supporting other Units.
• Provide personalized support with Clubhouse members throughout the Work-Ordered Day, informal counseling, and assistance with educational resources.
• Contribute advocacy functions for members of the Clubhouse who are at risk of hospitalization, vulnerable to predatory circumstances, or require official support in meeting their goals.
• Collaborates with Case Managers, Adult Foster Care providers, resources agencies, and prospective employers benevolent towards the welfare and safety of the members for general and specific purposes (e.g. navigating FIA procedures, US Naturalizations protocols, Transitional/Supported/Independent Employment).
